The priority was to capture each lighthouse from the sea-facing side and at a very specific time — just before sunrise or just after sunset, when the light was active. These drone shots would be used across communications, heritage, and archive materials.
We planned each shoot to align with the narrow 30-minute window at dusk or dawn, and coordinated closely with Trinity House to track weather and tidal conditions, essential for safe and successful flights.
Using our DJI Inspire 2 drone, we were able to capture ultra-stable, cinematic footage in low light and exposed coastal locations. Every shot was composed to hero the lighthouse from its most dramatic angle, seaward, isolated, and illuminated.
"Blueprint Film perfectly encapsulated the lifestyle of our customers... We couldn't have asked for a better way to showcase our range around the world."
Trinity House
Each film stands alone as a striking portrait of a lighthouse in operation, while collectively they help tell the story of the organisation’s enduring role in maritime safety.
The films are now used as part of a growing national archive and across Trinity House’s communications, from public engagement to internal presentations and heritage use.
