After a long summer break Flix in the Stix has returned for another season of touring around rural Lincolnshire. The first month of the season has been a great success and all the villages involved are pleased to have their cinema nights again!
The community project run by our sister company Blueprint: Film Foundation was introduced to provide a cinema experience for rural villages around Lincolnshire, transforming their local village hall into a cinema for an evening each month.
Laneham Village Hall are new to Flix in the Stix and are enjoying being part of the touring programme!
Flix in the Stix offers these often isolated communities the opportunity to enjoy an evening of entertainment, as well as providing a regular social activity helping to bring residents together and encourage more social events within the venues.
We aim to show a range of diverse films which include comedies, old classics and popular titles. All the villages involved with the programme take part in the film selection process and pick films for their village screening dates. The first month’s film choices included ‘Jackie’, ‘La La Land’, and ‘Lion’ which had a lot of people in tears!
For those who have not yet experienced Flix in the Stix and want to come along to a screening, here is a list of screening dates:
- Laneham Village Hall – ‘La La Land’, Friday 10th November.
- Fiskerton Village Hall – ‘La La Land’, Thursday 16th November.
- Ingham & Cammeringham Village Hall – ‘Their Finest’, Wednesday 15th November
- Digby War Memorial Hall – ‘Their Finest’, Wednesday 22nd November.
We are always looking for ways to expand Flix in the Stix, whether that is through new funding opportunities or working with local councils, committees and village halls to bring Flix in the Stix to as many villages as possible.
More information about screenings and the project is available on the Flix in the Stix website.
