Who would have thought household items being destroyed to a classical music score would be so satisfying? Our first pick of July doesn't have a narrative, but it does offer some strange therapeutic quality. The compositions that make up this energetic journey through music and destruction are incredibly captivating.
Our next pick follows the story of a young guide at a sacred waterfall in Haiti. We love the confident style & stunning cinematography on this one. The glow of every frame and sharp editing make for a hugely empathetic and engrossing watch.
Horatio Baltz' brilliant portrait of the world in 2020, is our next pick of July. From Coronavirus to mass protests; Baltz captures the feeling of the moment through stunning photography, delivered in a powerful black and white mood piece.
We're not here to pick favourites, but 'Rebooted' might be the best thing you'll see all year. LateNite Films' hugely creative story of one stop-motion skeleton's fight for survival is so well executed & full of charm, you won't want it to end.
Last but not least, is Tom Oxenham's hilarious and witty short sketch; imagining what the opposite of Spider-man might be. Following a spider-turned-man through his daily life is kind of a stroke of genius. Definitely worth a watch if you're in need of a laugh!So that's all from July folks!
