Every Friday over on our socials, we pick out a new short film from across the web that made a particular impact on us. From animations, to narrative or documentary shorts; it’s always good to check out other creators’ work. #AmazingFilms is our way of showcasing some of the best short films the internet has to offer. With another month down, we’ve compiled all of the best short films from August into one handy list! Take a scroll, get inspired, and soak in some stunning creative content.
Our first pick of August is a great story about first impressions. Exploring the story of DeShawn Willis, who went viral for his creative van replacement; Dan Lior's short film shows us that we shouldn't always judge a book by it's cover. We think it's a great message, especially in today's climate. Short and sweet, this is definitely not one to miss.
Following Jim Henterly, a naturalist, illustrator and fire lookout in North America; Lindsey Hagen's gorgeous short delivers a fantastic message about human connection with the natural world. We love the story here, but the cinematography is really a thing of beauty. We're suckers for good landscape photography, but this just pushes it to the limit. Definitely one for those who prioritise delicious visuals!
Ryan Gibb's mountain biking short is one of the most unique displays of sport we've seen on video. Following a biker down a burnt out landscape, From The Ash provides a *serious* slow-motion feast for the eyes. We love the colours and motion in this one, but mainly we're left wondering, "how on earth did they shoot that?". One for fans of sport and jaw dropping visuals.
So that’s all from August folks! Remember to follow us over on Facebook or Twitter to stay up to date with all of our picks for next month! While you’re here, why not check out some of our own projects?
